How do ornamental fish reproduce?

These fish can reproduce in two ways:

The first method:

Fish give birth to live young through internal fertilization, or they lay eggs from which the young hatch upon completion of the incubation period. This is called external fertilization. The first method is characterized by the fact that the young, after being born, can search for food and swim easily.

The second method:

The egg method requires waiting until the babies emerge, which takes between seven and ten days, until they are fully grown.

The requirements of the fish differ in both methods; in the first method, the fish can reproduce easily, while in the second method, the fish need to scatter some grass or gravel on their eggs so that the male can fertilize them.

How do ornamental fish care for their young?

Fish differ in how they care for their young and eggs. Some fish do their best to protect their young as much as possible, while others devour them and their eggs. Fish that give birth to small fish are also known to devour them. Therefore, the eggs or young should be placed away from the fish tank and transferred to another tank equipped with food, clean water, and plants. Then, the young fish can easily search for food without being hindered by large fish.
